Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Loomscribe collects when you use our website and application, how we use and share that information, and the choices and rights you have. We have written it in plain English so you can understand exactly what happens to your data. By creating an account or using Loomscribe, you agree to the practices described here.
01
What Loomscribe does
Loomscribe is a NotebookLM-style AI workspace built for Loom videos. You paste a public or unlisted Loom share link, and Loomscribe extracts the transcript and metadata from the publicly accessible Loom data for that recording. It then generates AI artifacts such as summaries, action items, and key topics, lets you chat with the transcript using retrieval-augmented generation, and can produce AI dubbing and translation. Loomscribe never edits, alters, or re-uploads the original Loom recording — it only works with the transcript and metadata that Loom already makes available for the link you provide.
Because Loomscribe processes video content on your behalf, you should only submit Loom links that you own or otherwise have the right to access and process. See our Terms of Service for the full rules on acceptable use.
02
Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to operate the service. This falls into a few categories:
- Account data. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. Authentication is handled by BetterAuth; we do not store your password in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (such as your name, email address, and profile image) from Google in place of a password.
- Content you create and process. This includes the Loom links you submit, the transcripts we extract, the AI-generated artifacts (summaries, action items, topics), any dubbed or translated output, and the chat messages you exchange with your notebooks. This content is stored so you can return to your notebooks later.
- Usage and billing records. We keep records of plan status, subscription activity, dubbing credit usage, and similar operational data needed to run your account and honor plan limits.
- Technical and analytics data. Like most websites, we and our analytics providers automatically receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited. This is described further under Cookies & analytics below.
03
How we use information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve Loomscribe. Specifically, we use it to:
- Create and authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- Extract transcripts, generate AI artifacts, run RAG chat, and produce dubbing and translation for the videos you add.
- Process payments, manage subscriptions, and enforce plan limits and fair-use policies.
- Respond to your support requests and communicate important service notices.
- Monitor, debug, and improve the reliability, performance, and safety of the service, and to detect and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your notebooks to advertise to you.
04
Third-party services
To run Loomscribe we rely on a small number of trusted third-party service providers. Each processes only the data needed for its function:
- Stripe handles payments and subscription billing. Loomscribe never stores your full card numbers; card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe.
- OpenRouter and OpenAI provide the AI models we use to process transcript content — including cleanup, summaries, action items, topics, chat responses, and embeddings for search. Transcript text is sent to these providers to generate those results.
- Google provides optional OAuth sign-in. When you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares basic profile information with us so we can create or authenticate your account.
- Vercel hosts the Loomscribe application and serves it to your browser.
- Google Tag Manager and analytics. We load Google Tag Manager (container GTM-K9VBH67V), which in turn can load analytics tools including Microsoft Clarity, to understand how the site is used and improve it.
These providers act as processors on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Loomscribe, our users, or the public.
05
Data retention & deletion
We retain your account and notebook data for as long as your account is active, so that your notebooks, transcripts, and artifacts remain available to you. You can delete your content at any time. Deleting a notebook cascades: its videos, transcripts, transcript chunks, and the embeddings generated from them are removed as well. If you would like us to delete your account and its associated data entirely, contact us at the address below and we will process your request.
06
Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for two main purposes. First, essential cookies keep you signed in and allow the application to function — without these, you could not stay logged in to your account. Second, analytics tools loaded through Google Tag Manager (including Microsoft Clarity) help us understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and how features are used — so we can improve the product. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the service from working.
07
Your rights
You have meaningful control over your personal data. Depending on where you live, these rights may include the ability to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct information that is inaccurate, and to request deletion of your account and notebook data. You can exercise any of these rights — access, correction, or deletion — by contacting us at support@loomscribe.com. Much of your data is also directly under your control inside the app: you can edit or delete notebooks, videos, and messages yourself at any time.
08
Children's privacy
Loomscribe is not directed to children and is intended for use by adults and by people old enough to enter into a binding agreement in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
09
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the product evolves or as legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of Loomscribe after an update means you accept the revised policy.
